MCC Royals secured a 16-run victory over MCC Stallions in their MCL 11 T20 encounter at the MCC Ground, Margao, after defending a competitive total built on key middle-order contributions.
Batting first, the Royals posted 154/9 in 20 overs. Vijay Nagarajan top-scored with 40, supported by Abhishek Goyal (35) and Shailesh Redkar (30), who helped stabilise the innings despite regular breakthroughs from the Stallions’ bowlers. Dr. Ankush Patil (2/16), Govind Gaokar (2/32) and Rohit Mehta (2/36) ensured the Royals were unable to accelerate freely.
In reply, MCC Stallions were bowled out for 138 in 18.1 overs. Infancio Correia (38), Rohit Mehta (27) and Naval Naik (21) showed resistance but failed to build partnerships strong enough to take the chase deep.
The Royals’ bowlers executed a disciplined attack, with Aditya Prabhugaonkar leading the way with 2/15. Support came from Shailesh Redkar (1/19), Chirag Naik (1/31), Aditya Angle (1/23), Venkat Biche (1/21) and Abhishek Goyal (1/23), each contributing vital wickets to tighten the contest.
Shailesh Redkar was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
