St. Joseph Institute, Vasco and Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim booked their places in the 2026-27 state-level school table tennis tournament after winning the girls’ and boys’ titles respectively at the Mormugao Taluka Cluster 11 U-17 Championships.
The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs organised the tournament on July 15 at the Indoor Hall, Chicalim Sports Complex.
Girls’ team secures convincing final win
St. Joseph Institute led the day’s results by defeating Mt. Litera Zee School 3-0 in the U-17 girls’ final.
Vaidehi Naik gave St. Joseph the lead with an 11-2, 11-6 victory over Lavanya in the opening singles. Ananya Maneukar extended the advantage after defeating Yashna 11-2, 11-2 in the second singles.
Aadhya Naik sealed the title with an 11-5, 11-4 win over Anlia in the third singles, completing a straight-games victory for the Vasco school.
With the win, St. Joseph Institute qualified for the 2026-27 state-level tournament.
Regina Mundi dominates boys’ final

In the U-17 boys’ final, Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim defeated St. Joseph Institute, Vasco 3-0 to claim the Cluster 11 championship.
Aanir Shaikh opened the tie with an 11-5, 12-10 win over Svanik in the first singles. Eric Pereira de Andrade followed with an 11-6, 11-5 victory against Shaurya to put Regina Mundi within one match of the title.
Vayesh Naik completed the sweep by overcoming Kush 11-7, 16-14 in the third singles, securing the championship for the Chicalim school.
Regina Mundi High School also qualified for the 2026-27 state-level tournament.
