The Raia Empowerment Foundation and V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an inclusive café that empowers visually impaired and differently-abled individuals.

Raia Empowerment Foundation, a not-for-profit organization committed to creating employment and growth opportunities for the differently-abled, will collaborate with VMSIIHE—a premier hospitality institute in Goa with world-class infrastructure and facilities. Under the partnership, VMSIIHE will support the project by providing design ideas and layout planning for the café, focusing on accessibility and inclusivity. The institute will also assist in selecting appropriate equipment suited to the café’s operational needs.

The café aims to be a platform where visually impaired and differently-abled persons showcase their acquired skill sets, promoting inclusivity, challenging societal misconceptions, and creating meaningful employment and empowerment opportunities.

The MoU was signed by Ms. Sandra Menon, Director of Raia Empowerment Foundation, and Prof. Irfan Mirza, Director and Principal of VMSIIHE, on 15th September 2025.
