Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, in association with Shree Gujarati Samaj Margao, will organise a grand Dandiya/Garba Group Dance Competition followed by Raas Garba on Saturday, 20th September 2025, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Khula Munch of Ravindra Bhavan Margao.
The Dandiya/Garba Group Dance Competition will feature prizes of up to ₹25,000 for the 1st prize, ₹15,000 for the 2nd, ₹10,000 for the 3rd, and additional consolation prizes of ₹5,000 and ₹3,000.
Key competition details:
- Maximum of 12 groups will be allowed on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Each group will perform for a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 6 minutes.
- Groups should have between 8 and 12 participants and are open to all age groups.
- Recorded music must be submitted by participants on a pen drive by 4:00 pm on the day of the event.
- An entrance fee of ₹500 per group is non-refundable.
- Entry forms will be available at the RBM office starting from 8th September 2025.
- All applications must reach the office by 16th September 2025.
Following the group competition, the Raas Garba event will commence at 7:30 pm, with multiple categories of awards, including:
- Best Dancer with Prop — ₹5,000
- Dandiya King & Queen — ₹3,000 each
- Best Couple, Best Costume Male/Female, Prince & Princess, Old is Gold — ₹3,000 each
- Best Performer Child (Male/Female), Miss Energetic Performer, and Mr. Energetic Performer — ₹2,000 each.
A special offstage competition, including Dandiya Decoration, Navratri Aarti, and Garba Decoration, will take place from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with prizes awarded by Shree Gujarati Samaj Margao.
Additionally, a special performance will be presented between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm by participants of the seven-day Dandiya & Garba workshop organised by Ravindra Bhavan Margao.
Raas Garba will feature live DJ music and is open to all. Gujarati food stalls and chaat delicacies will be available for the general public.
