
The second round of the Goa Premier Division League three-day matches, organised by the Goa Cricket Association, got underway on Thursday with action across multiple venues.
At the Bandodkar Ground in Campal, Salgaocar Cricket Club posted 285 in their first innings against Chowgule Sports Club. In reply, Chowgule reached 41 for 1 at stumps, trailing by 244 runs.
Salgaocar, opting to bat first, built their innings through steady contributions. Shaantanu Nevagi scored 45, while captain Yash Kasvankar added 32. Tunish Sawkar anchored the middle order with a brisk 81, supported by lower-order contributions from Ruthvik Naik (21), Ayush Verlekar (18), and Yogesh Kauthankar (16). For Chowgule, Shubham Tari picked up four wickets, with Darshan Misal taking two.
Chowgule made a cautious start in response, with Sanath Nevagi scoring 23 and Gauresh Kambli unbeaten on 9 at close of play.
At the NAPEX ground in Sankhali, Dempo Cricket Club were all out for 262 in 87.3 overs after electing to bat against Margao Cricket Club. Captain Snehal Kauthankar led from the front with 89, while Mohit Yadav (35), Aaditya Kota (28), and Saniket Palkar (25) added useful runs.
Anuj Yadav was the standout performer for Margao, claiming six wickets. Margao were yet to begin their innings at the end of the day.

Meanwhile, at the GCA ground in Porvorim, Geno Sports Club put up a strong total of 309 in 69.1 overs against Panjim Gymkhana. Nihal Surlakar top-scored with 90, while captain Samar Dubhashi contributed 59. Kaushal Hattangadi (33) and Pundalik Naik (32) added depth to the innings.
In response, Panjim Gymkhana were 47 for 2 in 16 overs at stumps, with Bansil Pandya scoring 25 and Suyash Prabhudessai unbeaten on 12. They trail by 262 runs, with Geno holding the advantage.
