The Goa Cricket Association (GCA), in association with the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), conducted an anti-doping awareness seminar for about 250 cricketers and support staff from across the state.
The technical session was conducted through video conferencing by NADA expert Dr Rajesh Mailagire, who holds MBBS and MD qualifications.
Dr Mailagire briefed participants on India’s anti-doping framework, including prohibited substances and methods, athletes’ rights and responsibilities, therapeutic-use exemptions, testing procedures and the consequences of anti-doping rule violations.

The session focused on compliance with NADA regulations and the responsibilities of both players and support personnel in maintaining fair competition.
The programme was held under the leadership of GCA president and former Ranji Trophy cricketer Mahesh Dessai, secretary Tulshidas Shetye and the association’s managing committee.
The GCA said the seminar would familiarise players and support staff with anti-doping requirements and promote ethical cricket in Goa.
