The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs concluded the Mormugao Taluka Cluster 11 rounds of the Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2026-27 on July 16 at Rose Circle Ground, Sada, with Regina Mundi Higher Secondary School and St. Thomas High School, Cansaulim emerging as champions in their respective age categories.
In the Under-17 boys’ final, Regina Mundi Higher Secondary School defeated St. Andrew’s Higher Secondary School, Vasco, 3-0 to secure the cluster title and qualify for the state-level tournament.
Matthias Rodrigues, Aaryadhya Naik and Alden Almeida scored one goal each for Regina Mundi in the final.
The victory sends the Regina Mundi Under-17 boys’ team to the state-level edition of the Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament for the 2026-27 season.
The Under-15 boys’ final saw St. Thomas High School, Cansaulim overcome Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Cortalim after a penalty shootout.
The match ended 1-1 at full time, with Crisbun D’Souza scoring for St. Thomas and Nirbhay Chauhan finding the net for Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. St. Thomas then won the tie-breaker 6-4 to claim the Cluster 11 title.
With the victory, the St. Thomas Under-15 boys’ team also qualified for the state-level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2026-27.
The Cluster 11 matches were organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs as part of the qualifying rounds for the state competition.
